Like the sun, newspaper circulation rises in the east and falls in the west.

The latest report from the World Association of Newspapers and News Publishers, an organization that routinely gathers massive quantities of data on newspapers, show that China has surpassed India this year in the total number of newspapers in circulation with 114.5 million. Denmark, Russia and the UK lead the world in the number of newspapers lost this year.

While those in the Western media are mourning the loss of the printed word, Chinese newspaper proprietors have nothing to worry about.
